Updates, updates, updates...

I’ve been on a good creative streak lately. I don’t really know what started it, but I’m beginning to feel inspired to create more often. The only thing that is really inhibiting me is my financial situation. OSAP takes a week’s, sometimes more, worth of pay, and on top of that I’ve got a hefty cell phone bill and a girlfriend to boot. I spent what was left in my checking account on four Copic markers in order to make this…

My friend Brent has already decided to order a copy of the print. I don’t think I plan on selling the original to people. My scanner does a pretty great job, and it’s easier to correct the little mistakes I make with Photoshop. If someone is willing to pay more for the original then I would most likely do it, but the originals are in no way compositionally thought out. That’s what Photoshop is for in my mind. Making prints also allows anyone to own one, and are super cheap for people as well. I don’t have the heart to charge someone thirty dollars for an 8.5x11 glossy print that literally cost me two dollars. Even when I had “Issues with…” in galleries, I felt weird putting a two hundred dollar price tag on them even though that was the lowest we were allowed to charge for prints (they were two by three feet).

It also feels great to be writing again. Sorry for any spelling and grammar mistakes. I am horrible trust me. I’d like to think that my narrative style makes up for the lack of everything else, vocabulary included. Production is in full force right now Alex Sharke style. I went through a huge lull over the wintertime. Didn’t feel like writing, didn’t feel like photographing, drawing, painting, anything that involved creativity really. I went into a Netflix induced hibernation, but I’m glad that it’s starting to come to end now. The only thing that I really need to get rolling on is the comic that I have been working on and off again for the last month. Here’s a page…

Not much and it’s for a completely different storyline from the one that I plan on releasing first. Skullboy. An alter ego that I came up with while traveling through Europe, and that has become a voice through some of the dark times I’ve had to endure this last year. If I can get my shit together and actually hash a twenty to thirty page book, I think it would be great for me. It’s a little time consuming especially when it’s mostly going to be hand drawn and with a Photoshop post-production. Photoshop is still a big learning curve for me, editing photos is one thing, but creating something from nothing in Photoshop is a whole other world. I thought about taking some classes but I really can’t afford it. I’m starting to ramble on so I might as well stop here.

Adios for those who are reading, if anyone is…
